Jakob Hegner is a Mixing Engineer & Producer and works at the renown Riverside Studios Berlin. In his career he released many critical acclaimed projects and has got nominated for the German Jazz Price and Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German Record Critics’ Award). His sound is warm and detailed, finding even in out-of-the-box productions always the sweet spot to make it fluent and coherent. Trying always to understand the artists vision, he likes to have conversation about their inspirations and ideas behind their song. Bringing the sound to industry-standard level, while keeping it unique and different is his most important principle.
He studied jazz drums at the University of Music Dresden. Early on he started producing and mixing his own music and already looking back at a wide-ranging discography. With his Band LELÉKA he won the 10th Burghauser Jazzprice 2018 and was nominated for the German Jazzprice in the category band of the year 2022. Mixed and produced by himself their last album “Sonce u Serci” was a critical acclaimed release in the european jazz scene and lead to touring festivals like Elbjazz or Jazzahead. Jakob mixed the double LP “liquid lines” by olicia, which got nomineed for the german jazzprice 2022 in the category debut album of the year. He works as a producer for the crossover/R&B singer EVÎN, with whom he released the EVÎN EP in 2022, championed by Notion, C-Heads Magazine or 1LIVE.
